She kept introducing herself and explaining that she ran an orphanage not far from where she was, in the heart of London, for exceptional children with an unusual fate just like her. Mr. Reeves once said that nothing is ever beyond redemption, and it stuck with her until today.Not the way she sees it, though, she thought.Regardless, through her kind intention and persistence, Quinn began to open the door for the outside world, though just a little.Under Mrs. Revees’ loving care, Quinn tried to re-learn everything she knew about the world and from a different point of view. The first thing she did was to let go of her family name and decided to go by her first name, Veronica. With a new beginning, she wished to put her miserable fate to a stop.Veronica grew up remarkably. Driven by her intelligence and determination to reinvent herself and prove others wrong — that the Quinns are better to be burned to ashes — she developed an insatiable thirst for knowledge and power. She delved into various fields and sharpened her abilities.
